On Jan 26th, 2015, Australia Day, all sorts of celebrations were held in various parts of Australia. Premier of New South Wales- the Hon. Mike BAIRD, held a grand National Day banquet at the Old Parliament House, Australia’s oldest historical building in Parramatta. Ms. Lynn YEH- Managing Director of Homart Pharmaceuticals, was invited to this event amongst other distinguished guests including Minister of Citizenship and Communities- the Hon. This historical building is the oldest Governor’s palace, built in 1799, renovated and expanded by the governors at the time and Mrs. Macquarie in 1815 and 1816.
On Jan 26th, 1778, Captain Arthur Phillip, the first Governor of New South Wales, and the founder of the settlement which became Sydney, raised the British flag at Sydney Cove for the first time. It has been 227 years since then and all Australians host all sorts of activities in ways of culture, music and entertainment to celebrate Australia Day. This year proud Aussies stood united as they stopped to Salute Australia by singing the national anthem at 12 noon with the Australian Army, Royal Australian Navy and Royal Australian Air Force combining their efforts to pay tribute to this magnificent country.

Mike BAIRD gave a speech, welcoming the guests, and expressed his gratitude of being an Australian in such a blessed land on this special day, which was to be cherished. After speeches by a few guests, an exquisite afternoon tea was served.
