On 15 Jan 2013, ANZ Bank the premium sponsor of Sydney Festival invited leading Women in Wealth from various industries to attend a delicate cocktail party at Sydney Town Hall. Ms. Lynn YEH, CEO of Homart Pharmaceutical was honoured to be invited. That evening, guests not only watched documentaries about outstanding women in different industries, countries and times, but also shared their attitudes to wealth and experiences with each other. Then all VIP guests watched the classic opera Semele Walk, one of the premium shows in Sydney Festival with the company of Ms. Joyce PHILLIPS, CEO of ANZ Bank. The excellent performance and special costumes brought surprise after surprise to all guests who stood up and gave a big applause at the end of the performance.
Invited by ANZ Bank, this classic opera Semele Walk is Mr. Handel (Handel’s) oratorio music masterpiece, performed first time in London in 1744. It is an Italian Baroque opera cleverly disguised as a Protestant English oratorio, an ironic play between mythology and history, politics and religion. This play is based on a love story between god and a girl named Semele featuring Germany’s Kaleidoscope. Semele Walk, directed by Mr. Ludger ENGELS was a combination of graceful opera singing and international fashion catwalk show by top models. Sydney Philharmonic members sitting in the VIP seats on both sides of the catwalk stage and standing up singing chorus had brought a big surprise to the audience. The Sydney Philharmonic Orchestra, models and dancers all dressed in costumes designed by famous designer Ms. Vivienne WESTWOOD.
